What is a timeline ?

Timeline is a list of events happening or about to happen in a sequence. Time is linear and flows only in one direction.

We make choices everyday in life. These choices end up deciding the sequence of events that our life will take. That’s what timeline is for a person so in turn only we have the power to shape up our life the way we want to. Nobody else can change your life, it is just you and only you who has the power. Suppose, you wake up one day and want to do something unconventional, it is you who can make that choice and then the sequence of events will fall into place with each and every choice you make.

Timeline in a nutshell:

You are born.

You grow up and go to school, you don’t choose the school as you are still too young.

You go to college, may a times you choose, many times you don’t.

One takes up a job, that should be your choice mostly it is but sometimes it is not.

Then one finds a life partner , that has to be solely your choice and nobody else should have any say in the decision, suggestions should be welcome but the decision has to be of the 2 people.

In the life events above, the first 2 are not your choice, third one can be or cannot be your choice but the next 2 have to be your choice. Once, you let someone else influence you or take a decision for you, do remember it is you who has to live with that decision and not that person. As humans we do like to have someone elder or someone we know is experienced and knows about life more than us, mostly parents or an elder. But, at the end of the day it is your life and you have to live with it, so do not let anybody else decider your own TIMELINE.

Suppose, one wants to become a lawyer, and nobody else in the family is a lawyer, then he or she should be allowed to take that road in life and the well wishers should support that person whether there is failure or success. At the end of the day, it will be your own failure or success, nobody else would be responsible for it.

Suppose you are about to get into a job but someone tells you to get another one as they feel that that’s better for you. If one says that to you, they are showing you their limits and not yours, so do explore life as it comes on your own, of course be surrounded by well wishers, people who help you grow and be positive. Always, be away from people who are toxic and are constantly pulling you away from your own growth and evolution.

One can think hypothetically, timeline is a concept that frames up moments in one’s life and when you look back, there are certain major life events that occurred due to a choice you made. One can think of hypothetically that if I hadn’t chosen that way ahead or if I hadn’t left an option in the past my life could have been completely different, good or bad cant be said as it could only be experienced day by day, after making that choice. For instance, a family of three mom, dad and a young boy are living together. Suddenly, one day the father is killed by robbers in the house and the wife and kid weren’t able to do anything. They moved in and the kid grew up , got a job and got married but they all still missed the father. Suppose, the son got a chance to go back in time and change that event and save his father. No one would know what that could do to the family’s timeline as that event was destined to happen but if it is avoided, no one knows how all 3 have their different timeline shaped up. So, that’s how affecting any life event for anyone or for yourself, could affect the timeline so much. In chaos theory, this was also invented to be the Butterfly effect, an idea that says that a small change can make much bigger changes happen.

So, in general always live each and every moment of your life as per your choice, but do have the wisdom to understand of what is right or wrong. Do not choose something just because you don’t want to follow your gut just because the person who is aligning with that thought isn’t someone you want around.
